IPMS for Offices – Second public consultation announced
On Monday 30 June IPMS for Offices will be launched for a second round of public consultation, scheduled to run until 15 September 2014.
Following an extensive consultation process earlier this year (January-April 2014), which led to a number of significant revisions to the draft standard, the Coalition has decided to publish a further Exposure Draft for public consultation.
Ahead of the second consultation IPMSC Secretary General, Jean-Yves Pirlot, said:
“If IPMS is to become international best practice as we believe it will, then it is essential that industry and professionals are at the heart of its creation. Following changes to the standard in response to the earlier public consultation the Coalition has decided that it would be prudent to launch a second round of public review. Industry, governments and members of the public will again have an opportunity to review and comment on the draft standard before the Coalition approves the final version which we hope will happen before the end of the year.”
On behalf of the IPMS Coalition I would like to publically praise the ongoing work of the independent Standard Setting Committee in reaching this major milestone. IPMS will make a huge and positive difference to property markets around the world and it is important, therefore, that we take the time to receive and consider all input before the standard is finalised.”
The exposure draft IPMS for Offices will be available for the second round of public consultation from 30 June.
The consultation will close on 15 September, following which the IPMS Standards Setting Committee will review responses and make necessary amends.
The Coalition plan to publish a final version of IPMS for Offices in November 2014.
